This Privacy Policy explains what information دوائي (Dawai) collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Dawai helps patients in Lebanon find which nearby pharmacies have a medicine in stock.
Information we collect
To run your account and connect you with pharmacies we collect your phone number (used to sign in with an SMS code), your full name, and your city or area. When you choose “near me”, we use your device location at that moment to find nearby pharmacies. We also store the medicines you request, pharmacies’ replies, your reservations and pickups, and any rating or comment you leave.
Why we use your data
We use this information only to operate the service: to deliver your request to nearby pharmacies, show their replies, let you reserve and pick up, and keep the service reliable. We do not sell your personal data.
Phone number & verification
Your phone number is used to confirm it is you with a one-time SMS code, and so a pharmacy can contact you about your request. No email is required.
Location
Location is used only when you tap “near me”, to rank nearby pharmacies. You can instead choose your city and area manually and skip location entirely. You can change location permission at any time in your device settings.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, we store a notification token so pharmacies can be alerted to new requests, and (where enabled) so you can be alerted when a pharmacy replies. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device or browser settings.
Pharmacies & administrators
Pharmacies provide business details such as name, address, phone and opening hours so they can receive requests. Administrators review and approve pharmacies and may moderate accounts to keep the service safe.
Data retention
Medicine requests are temporary and are removed automatically a few hours after they are created. If you delete your account, your profile and related personal data are removed from our systems.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from the Account screen in the app. This removes your profile, ends your sessions, and cancels or removes your active requests. Pharmacy and administrator accounts are managed by our team — contact support to close one.
How we protect your data
We take reasonable steps to protect your information and limit who can access it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Not a medical service
Dawai is not a doctor, pharmacy, or emergency service, and medicine availability is not guaranteed until a pharmacy confirms it. For urgent medical needs, contact a doctor or your local emergency services.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will appear on this page with a new “last updated” date.
